Cat Ping

Did You Know?
  • That the economy is much your responsibility as it is business and government.
  • That it is the small and medium business that is the backbone of American economics—not big business.
  • That consumer spending is in direct relationship to the health of the economy, and how well we pay off our debts.
  • That for every person who enters into a mortgage agreement with payments bigger than their means has paved the way for today's economic downturn.
  • That lending institutions knew what they were doing and were careless with the consumers' trust.
  • That land developers were playing craps with our future economy with zero down and 125% lending practices.
  • That big oil companies are not as bad as Insurance CEOs—they at least don't deny you the right to buy their gas, or tell you where can go to get it, when you can have it, how much you can have, all while making you qualify for it.
  • That government is being consumed by unions.
  • That teachers are being forced to participate in unions (totally unconstitutional).
  • That the cost of doing business with unions is part of big government spending and why our taxes keep going up.
  • That most in Congress don't want to pass the Line Item Veto bill; thereby, allowing the president to strike out a single line of pork barrel/special interest group spending that some congress members attempt to cram down the American tax payers throat by trying to sneak their payback into an otherwise smart piece of legislative law.
  • That some in Congress don't want campaign reform; otherwise, they wouldn't have a campaign budget without the unions and special interest groups that lobby them for their pork barrel spending and support on bills being passed…or not.
  • That it is in the best interest of their fund raising with unions, big business and special interest groups that pay big dollars for them to represent their agenda and not that of the voting Americans.
  • That the American dollar is worth far less than you think it is because its earning power for the consumer has been taxed death well into your retirement years.
  • That more Americans care about animal rights than children's rights
  • And that the gap is growing between the “haves and the have-nots”.

There, Lieutenant Colonel Ping is the Chief of Plans and Exercises, which is a 24 x 7 operations center defending the LandWarNet. Cat returned home the end of March 2008.

Cat Ping is the everyday girl next door, who grew-up with strong family values and work ethics. Those same values and ethics have served Cat well when she made the Military a Career, and easily transition to Army Strong Values. Her military career began as an enlisted private in the Indiana Army National Guard. She graduated from the Indiana Military Academy in 1987 and received her commission as a Second Lieutenant Signal Officer. She spent the next 16 years setting goals, working hard, training and achieving results, which gained her the rank she currently holds. Some of her past assignments have been as a small group leader, a commander, a brigade staff officer, an ROTC Assistant Professor of Military Science at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, and as an instructor training company grade officers to be field grade staff officers with higher levels of responsibility. In 2003, then Major Ping transferred to the Army Reserves where she continues to serve her country and community.

As a civilian, Cat has work in the Administrative, Sales and Marketing fields for small to medium size companies. These past working assignments have helped pave the way for Cat's success as an entrepreneur and successful business woman. While working two jobs, Cat earned her degree in Business Administration from North Wood University in 1995, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Cat Ping has always advocated for a stronger voice to represent the people. Someone who can relate to the people's needs, because they're shared…someone whose only interest is making a difference for the good of the people…someone that resonates with the many, and not just a few. And mostly, someone we can trust to bring maturity, experience and leadership to bear in crucial moments of decision making when serving the best interests of our community. That candidate is Cat Ping. A proven leader serving our country, our community and as a business owner, Cat Ping provides the fresh perspective with new beginnings toward change. A results oriented, hard working, dedicated servant of the people and for the people that will stay the course with strength of purpose the people deserve.

In my own words...
My fellow neighbors, I would like to introduce myself and tell you why I'm running for Congress. As a long time resident of the Warren Township community in the 7th district, I have lived, seen, and heard the many politicians that have come and gone with their various messages of prosperity they would bring, if elected. Some, I felt were more sincere; others, I felt were selling feel good legislative rhetoric to the voting constituents. Most often, however, I felt did not represent me, my needs, or my viewpoint on the various subjects. I felt disenfranchised from my elected officials without any voting power. Now, I'm running for office. Not because I grew up thinking I was going to be the greatest politician that ever lived, or that my life's ambition was to be in politics; no, I was asked to run for office by a very small handful of friends and family who believe in me. I thought long and hard before making my decision and concluded that win or lose the primary I would still be a winner either way. That is because of what my goal and intentions are behind running for office. I don't need to run for Congress to complete me or serve some lifelong ambition. I don't need the job; I own my own successful small company and I serve my country proudly as an Army Reserve Officer. And I don't have an ego that requires I belong to a higher social scale in society. I'm doing it for one reason only, because I believe.

I believe in America and my neighbors. I believe that we basically all want the same things in life. And I believe that those things haven't changed since the Constitution was written. But I also believe that those things that have been protected by the Constitution are being eroded by people and organizations that don't represent the best interests of the American public, our communities, our government, or our way of life. In the past, there have been many famous people who are widely recognized for what they have said, as much as for what they had done. One man said that “our nation was conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal”. Another famous leader said, “I have a dream”. And yet a third man stirred this nation with his words, “Ask not what I can do for you, but what you can do for your country”. And each of them had it right…and the people knew this. It was the right thing to do, the right thing to say, because it was the right thing to believe in…and at the right time. That is what brings a community together, the belief in the rightness of something. We know, as a community, when something is right or when it is just plain wrong.

Right now is that time…the time for change. The time to collectively say, with one voice, “We've had enough”. Now is the time to recognize that it takes someone with selfless motivation to represent their needs…to be their voice…their representation when the line has been drawn that they stand for them…because like them, they believe.

Some men have visions, some have dreams, I have a belief…I believe that the right person, at the right time, making the right decisions, can make all the difference in the world to improving my community and standards of living. I believe that the people of Indianapolis will agree. And that win or lose the Primary election, my candidacy will have in some measure done its job to better inform, enlighten and educate the public on some of the more important facts and issues that they otherwise would vote in ignorance of.

So, regardless of who you vote for, please do us all a service, take time to understand who you are voting for, who they represent, and how that will impact not just you, but the community at large. Empower your own vote—don't lose it to the power of big money commercial and mass media opinion. Make your vote count.
