"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Born in Indianapolis and raised by loving Christian parents, with three sisters, Cat grew up attending public schools and working hard, even as a youngster.
"My family would be considered poor to middle class.  My father worked long hard hours and was deacon at our church.  My mother was a stay-at-home mom until we were all old enough to go to school.  I knew we were poor because I was the beneficiary of hand-me-down clothes from my two elder sisters and my little girlfriend across the street. I worked chores in the house and yard so mother could go to work and then come home to cook the evening meal.  My parents believed in family values and my father insisted we all sat down to dinner together every night and he would say grace."

The 70's and 80's brought devastating hardship to Cat's family.  Working jobs since she was 17,  she watched her father die and her mother struggle.
"I enlisted in the National Guard in 1980 to help pay the bills.  I worked two jobs and the National Guard while putting myself through college on a part-time schedule."

Cat graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1995 with a degree in Business from Northwood University.
" I discovered, over time, that you can either let your circumstances define who  you are ... or you can meet life's challenges and mold yourself into the person you want to be;  I chose the latter."

Leadership...you can trust

Expectations

  • First and foremost, Shrink the deficit and shrink the Government.
  • Actually draft and pass a budget...not continually raise the debt ceiling. (See shrink the government)
  • Scale back the size and scope of some of the government branches and agencies...reduce the redundancy that overlaps in mission and authority.  Redistribute budget tax dollars to the programs to go to helping the people, not bloating the government, and pay down the deficit.
  • Reign in the out of control regulating from some of the agencies, i.e.., the EPA, TSA, DHS, FEMA, to name a few. (The IRS has it's own special category: see waste, fraud, and abuse)
  • Eliminate governmental waste, fraud and abuse:  This goes across the entire government spectrum starting with the IRS AND OBAMACARE.
  • Obamacare is a law waiting to blow up to IRS proportions.  It is already designed to be under IRS Department CONTROL...all the more reason to get rid of it! And if you don't know why the IRS, it's because Obamacare is a law that punishes those don't have insurance and the IRS is the branch of the government that will it enforce it with penalties and fines.
  • Improve our energy footprint and efficiencies.  Pass the XL Pipeline and get people to work.  Draft legislation for the EPA to work with oil companies to increase the number of oil processing refineries and upgrade and retrofit older ones.
  • Increase manufacturing production by easing up on the business tax burden and tightening down on imports to begin the unfair trade import imbalance.
  • Raise the rent on the United Nations or tell them to find a new home. And no more coming into our home and giving us left-handed complement or the blatant backstab.
  • Reaffirm and Assure "The Bill of Rights" and the Constitution will not be infringed upon or usurped in any way.
  • Close our boarders and draft legislation that protects our citizens from an over whelming influx of illegal immigrants living off our welfare programs and benefits. However, that does not mean to do a round up and deport all of them.  There are those that have been in our country for many years, some, most of their lives.  Those people we will work with to help them gain citizenship. Recent arrivals and the criminal element will be deported.
  • Those are just a few of the more pressing issues that we face every day. They none of them address our national security issues which are also becoming too numerous to count.
